School Meals

All NYC public school students can enjoy free breakfast and lunch at school. You do not need to apply for your child to receive those meals.

However, we do ask families to complete a School Meals form so that schools can receive the right amount of funding for the program. Please complete the online form. We will also send a copy of the form home with your child, or you can get it from your school’s main office.

Spread the Word

Please join us in spreading the word that breakfast and lunch are free for all NYC public school students every day. We hope your child will take advantage of this wonderful opportunity and come enjoy a healthy meal with us.

What’s on the Menu Today?

Our monthly menus offer a variety of healthy, great-tasting, and creative food choices. We make sure that K–12 students can choose from a variety of smart options, such as:
  • Whole grain cereals and breads
  • A variety of vegetables
  • Assorted fruits
  • Fresh salads
  • Low-fat and fat-free milk

Our goal is to always provide nutrient-rich options that students of all ages and backgrounds will love. Our meals maintain high nutrition standards which meet and many times exceed USDA standards for school meals. We do not use food additives such as artificial colors or flavors, non-nutritious sweeteners, or preservatives. Additionally, we restrict high fructose corn syrup when we can. Our menus and water services are created to make sure that students get the nutrients they need to think clearly and concentrate on learning.

For more information about our menus, nutrition information, or programs, email us at, or call our help desk at (877) 363-6325 between 7:30 AM to 4 PM Monday-Friday.

If you have already added money to your MySchoolBucks account for your child’s lunches this year, or if you have a balance remaining from prior years, you will receive a full refund. Please email to request a refund.

We take allergies, food safety, and student health very seriously. Please visit our page on allergies to learn more about how we ensure that your child receives the best care possible while at school.
