Learn About Other Ways to Graduate

Many of the programs described below are supported by the Access Schools Citywide Office. You can get help by reaching out to the Access Schools Citywide Office of the executive superintendent, or by contacting any of the Access Schools superintendents.

  • Alternative Middle Schools

    Are you over the age of 13? Have you not yet completed eighth grade? Students like you have found that small class settings have helped them succeed.

  • Young Adult Borough Centers

    If you are 17-21 years of age, with a minimum of 17 credits, and starting your fifth year (or more) of a New York City High School, Young Adult Borough Centers (YABCs) are afternoon and evening programs that can help you graduate.

  • Transfer High Schools

    Are you 15-21 years old and need credits or Regents Exams to graduate? Transfer Schools are small, full-time high schools designed to re-engage students.

  • High School Equivalency (Ages 17-21)

    Are you 17-21 years of age? Do you want to earn your High School Equivalency Diploma? Learn about the classes that are offered to help you prepare for the test.

  • Adult Education (Ages 21+)

    Are you over 21 years of age? Learn about the hundreds of tuition-free Adult Education classes offered in all five boroughs.
