Auto-upgrade for Zscaler on Chromebooks is Scheduled for June 27,2022
At 5PM on Monday, June 27, 2022 DIIT will be pushing out an upgrade of Zscaler to DOE-issued Chromebooks currently issued at all NYC DOE schools. This is being done to ensure that the Chromebooks are compliance with CIPA regulations.
In order for the update to go through, all Chromebooks will have to be fully shut down and restarted (not just in sleep mode) TWICE:
- Once before 5PM on June 27, 2022
- And again sometime after June 28, 2022
If Chromebooks are NOT restarted before 5PM on June 27, Zscaler will be pushed out the SECOND time the Chromebook is rebooted. You should expect that this update will take at least 30 minutes to complete—depending on the bandwidth at the location where the devices are located (school, home, library, etc.).
If you are having difficulties with your chromebook after restarting it twice, go to the Support Hub and click the blue “Create a ticket” button.
