POSITION:
SEED Site Administrator (SEED Expansion Sites)
LOCATION:
Various locations around New York City
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
A valid New York State certification as a School Administrator and Supervisor (SAS), School District Administrator (SDA), School Building Leader (SBL), School District Leader (SDL)
Currently appointed as a full-time Assistant Principal, Principal, Education Administrator, Supervisor of, or Special Education Teacher with a School Building Leader (SAS/SBL) Certificate, or School District Leader (SDA/SDL) Certificate
Three (3) years of experience as an Administrator in NYCPS
SELECTION CRITERIA:
At least three (3) years of satisfactory (Highly Effective/Effective) experience within NYCPS
Satisfactory record of attendance and punctuality
Demonstrated leadership in Special Education preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with supervising student engagement
Knowledge and demonstrated understanding of standards-based teaching, learning, and assessment as presented in the New York State Learning Standards, New York City Scope and Sequence and Primary Literacy and Math Competencies
Reduction in Per Session Positions: If the number of per session positions in an activity is reduced, staff will be released on the basis of least seniority in the activity. If positions are subsequently restored within a year in the per session activity staff shall be reemployed on the basis of seniority.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide supervision of teachers delivering targeted, skills-based instruction to students with disabilities to prevent substantial regression, including supervision of teachers in SEED, Weekend Academy, or other related programs where applicable.
Supervise all functions, operations, and programming for SEED and Weekend Academy in accordance with NYCPS guidelines.
Execute all goals and expected outcomes of the SEED afterschool and SEED/Weekend Academy program.
Supervise all aspects of instruction and curricula to meet the needs of students with disabilities and ensure that learning is differentiated based on the needs of individual students and program goals.
Supervising SEED/Weekend Academy staff to ensure regular communication with parents and families about student progress, learning plans and instructional activities.
Ensure SEED/Weekend Academy staff complete regular progress monitoring.
Become familiar with onsite Building Response Protocol; orient SEED/Weekend Academy staff to emergency preparedness and safety protocols
Other program-based assignments as needed, in accordance with the CSA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
WORK SCHEDULE:
Saturdays, November 23, 2024 – June 21, 2025, excluding the following dates: 11/30/2024, 12/21/2024, 12/28/2024, 1/18/2025, 2/15/2025, 2/22/2025, 3/22/2025, 4/12/2025, 4/19/2025
8:30-2:30pm, contingent upon student participation
Up to 230 hours maximum total per position per site (inclusive of Weekday and Saturday SEED Site supervision)
ADDITIONAL HOURS MUST BE APPROVED BY THE HIRING MANAGER AND SEED PROGRAM
Hours up to, but not limited to the approximate number of hours listed. Additional hours may be granted upon the approval of the hiring manager.
SALARY:
Per Session rates as per the relevant union/organization of the advertised title (Collective Bargaining Agreement). Contingent upon funding availability and programmatic approval.
