ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
A valid New York State certification as a School Administrator and Supervisor (SAS), School District Administrator (SDA), School Building Leader (SBL), School District Leader (SDL)
Currently appointed as a full-time Assistant Principal, Principal, Education Administrator, Supervisor of, or Special Education Teacher with a School Building Leader (SAS/SBL) Certificate, or School District Leader (SDA/SDL) Certificate
Three (3) years of experience as an Administrator in NYCPS
SELECTION CRITERIA:
At least three (3) years of satisfactory (Highly Effective/Effective) experience within NYCPS
Satisfactory record of attendance and punctuality
Demonstrated leadership in Special Education preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with supervising student engagement
Knowledge and demonstrated understanding of standards-based teaching, learning, and assessment as presented in the New York State Learning Standards, New York City Scope and Sequence and Primary Literacy and Math Competencies
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide supervision of staff delivering targeted, skills-based instruction/interventions to students with disabilities attending Weekend Academy, SEED, or other related programs where applicable.
Supervise all functions, operations, and programming for Weekend Academy and SEED in accordance with NYCPS guidelines.
Execute all goals and expected outcomes of the Weekend Academy and SEED programs.
Supervise all aspects of instruction and curricula to meet the needs of students with disabilities as well as ensuring that learning is differentiated based on the needs of individual students and program goals.
Supervising teachers/providers to ensure regular communication with parents and families about student progress, learning plans and instructional activities.
Ensure teachers/providers complete regular progress monitoring.
Secure staff coverages when needed
Become familiar with onsite Building Response Protocol; orient Weekend Academy/SEED staff to emergency preparedness and safety protocols
Signing timesheets of Weekend Academy/SEED staff
Other program-based assignments as needed, in accordance with the CSA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
WORK SCHEDULE:
Participate in Mandatory Site Administrator Orientation on TBD from 04:00-6:00 pm (subject to change)
Up to 6 hours per weekend day worked, contingent upon program participation and funding.
Weekends starting November TBD, 2024 - June 08, 2025, on Saturdays and/or Sundays from 8:30 am- 2:30 pm
Key dates:
Weekend Academy for staff and students will begin November TBD, 2024 and operate through the weekend ending June 08, 2025, excluding the following dates:
2024: Weekends of 11/09/2024, 11/30/2024, 12/21/2024, 12/28/2024
2025: Weekends of 01/18/2025, 02/15/2025, 02/22/2025, 04/12/2025, 04/19/2025, 05/24/2025
Reduction in Per Session Positions: If the number of per session positions in an activity is reduced, staff will be released on the basis of least seniority in the activity. If positions are subsequently restored within a year in the per session activity staff shall be reemployed on the basis of seniority.
ADDITIONAL HOURS MUST BE APPROVED BY THE HIRING MANAGER AND WEEKEND ACADEMY/SEED PROGRAM
Hours up to, but not limited to the approximate number of hours listed. Additional hours may be granted upon the approval of the hiring manager.
SALARY:
Per Session rates as per the relevant union/organization of the advertised title (Collective Bargaining Agreement). Contingent upon funding availability and programmatic approval.
